it's been quite a while

It's been quite a long while between drinks, or blog posts that others could see.  I've written a lot but kept it private but the time has come, I think, to re-open this blog to whoever may stumble on it.

So what has happened in this time?  Just on three years ago this month, I moved to live with my son and his wife. I will aways be grateful to them for taking me in, picking up the pieces, looking after me carefully without being too heavy or obvious about it.  I was reading back in this blog and find there are a couple of entries after the move.

It has taken me quite a while to get my act together.  I really don't think I was hoping for any reconciliation, I was just almost powerless to make myself do anything.  However, in this third year away, I got things together and three weeks ago, my former home was sold as part of divorce settlement.  I will reeive a substantial sum from this as my ex-husband has to give me money to replace his spending of my share of other moneys.  Not even to the court could he tell where several hundred thousand dollars had gone.  My guess is to people like Benny Hinn and Dnny Nalliah, two of his favourites.  However, he used it and had to replace it.

I'm now looking at a new stage of life.  Mum died about sixteen months ago and there will be some money from her estate soon. With that and the settlement money I hope to find somewhere pleasant to live.  I want room for the grandchildren to stay and room for my things.  Some storage or a garage would be lovely.  A sheltered outdoor area or balcony and reasonable transport.

I've done lots of thinking and have discovered many things.  However that is for another post.
